Reno fire crews are at the scene of a brush fire near Interstate 80 and McCarran Boulevard in northwest Reno. Firefighters were dispatched about 9:30 p.m. to the area of 5200 block Summit Ridge Drive, behind the Montebello apartments.

RENO, Nev. - Authorities say a wildfire south of Gardnerville has grown to at least 2,000 acres but is no longer forcing the shutdown of a major highway that was closed for some seven hours Tuesday.

Reno fire was on the scene of a small brush fire in the NW Reno area. According to the Reno Fire Department the size is burned about a half an acre and the fence at one house was threatened.
