RENO, Nev. - Authorities say a wildfire south of Gardnerville has grown to at least 2,000 acres but is no longer forcing the shutdown of a major highway that was closed for some seven hours Tuesday.

The fire closed Highway 395 for seven hours. Flames could be seen in Gardnerville from a 2,000-acre wildfire that raged through the Pine Nuts above Pine View Estates on Tuesday.
